I was browsing online and found this… I am REALLY intrigued. This is going in to the must try print out list ;-)

According to my research, this is a not too sweet crust, but is good for either savory (meat pies) or sweet recipes.

Idiot Proof 7Up Pie Crust Recipe

Recipe type: Pie Crust
Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups pastry or all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 lb shortening (if you want, omit the butter and use 1/2 lb. butter-flavored shortening)
  • 1/4 lb salted or unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup 7-up or Sprite
Instructions
  1. FOOD PROCESSOR METHOD
  2. Combine flour and salt in a food processor, and pulse a few times to combine.
  3. Add shortening and butter, if using, and pulse 5 times till butter is about the size of a raisin.
  4. Slowly pour in 7-Up or Sprite, and pulse to combine.
  5. Take the dough out, and refrigerate it overnight before using.
  6. HAND METHOD
  7. Sift together flour and salt.
  8. Cut in shortening and butter, if using.
  9. Cut until raisin-sized globs appear.
  10. Slowly pour in 7-Up or Sprite and stir.
  11. The dough should form a ball, but it should still be sort of wet.
  12. Wrap it up, and refrigerate overnight before using.

This is supposed to produce a wonderful, flaky crust!
